In the state of Michigan, if your second conviction occurs within seven years your first one, you will lose your license for one year. In order to have it reinstated, you will have to file an appeal with the DAAD. If you are successful, you will receive a restricted license allowing you to drive in certain situations. If your appeal is unsuccessful, you will be required to wait a year before trying again.
Michigan law states that being convicted of a third drunk driving offense in your lifetime, will result in a felony record. Three DWI convictions in a ten year period will result in a loss of your license for five years.
